Get ready as over 400 tamariki from across Aotearoa travel to the Manawatū to participate in New Zealand’s largest national robotics competition: the New Zealand VEX IQ Robotics Nationals! This event will bring together the country’s top VEX robotics teams, all competing for a chance to represent New Zealand on the world stage at the VEX World Championship in Dallas, USA.
Teams from Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatū, Wellington, Nelson, and Canterbury will showcase their skills in this thrilling school robotics competition for Year 5 to Year 10 rangatahi. After a year of intense preparation and tournaments, these teams will battle it out in one-minute matches for the prestigious title of National Champion.
Michelle Hazeleger-Mollard, Kiwibots National Operations Manager, shares: “We are incredibly proud of our rangatahi competing at such a prestigious event. Over the past 15 years, Kiwibots teams have brought home World Titles in 14 of those years. Our alumni have gone on to exciting careers in tech with organizations like PowerCo, SMC, RocketLab, and Lego.”
