Central Energy Trust Arena is the Sporting Hub in the Manawatu for all Sports.
We cater for everything from skating, frisbee, volleyball, badminton, table tennis to basketball, netball, rugby, soccer and everything in-between.We have an unparalleled 36 different sporting codes being conducted here regularly. National School and Club tournaments including volleyball, badminton, basketball and table tennis are just a few of the annual events hosted at the Arena.
Arena is home to Robertson Holden’s International Speedway. From October to April the track hosts hundreds of competitors and thousands of fans from all over the country, as they flock to one of the best-appointed circuits in the southern hemisphere. February's Superstock Teams Championship is the nations premier speedway event, when the Palmerston North Panthers play host to other teams from around the country. Over 26,000 patrons flock to the track over the two days.
Arena is also home to the Manawatu Rugby Union, Manawatu Turbos and Manawatu Jets basketball. Arena hosted two pool matches of the Rugby World Cup in 2011, this significant tournament bought over 25,000 to the Arena from all round the world.
Central Energy Trust Arena is the primary sporting and events complex in the lower North Island. It is prominent throughout New Zealand as the foremost multi use leisure and events facility.
