Central Energy Trust Arena is the primary sporting and events complex in the lower North Island. It is prominent throughout New Zealand as the foremost multi use sporting and events facility.
Right in the heart of Palmerston North city, just 7 minutes walking distance from the CBD, Central Energy Trust Arena is a favourite choice for events with a significant visitor component. The park like environment boasts 33 individual indoor and outdoor venues within the 18 hectare site.
Central Energy Trust Arena’s main outdoor venue is the Stadium – the home of Manawatu rugby and the Mighty Manawatu Turbos through winter and Robertson Holden International Speedway over Summer. Overlooking the Oval, the grandstand complements the highly regarded playing surface and has been the prime reason why the Arena has been so successful in recent years in securing a range of international and national sporting fixtures, such as the Hurricanes, Rugby World Cup 2011 and Vodafone Warriors.
The main attraction for national and regional sporting tournaments is the ability to house all teams under one roof. We host multiple national sporting tournaments from Basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, futsal and more due to the ability to run a full tournament without having to leave a building, all our venues interlink. We have plenty of rooms that can be utilised for tournament offices, referees lounges, physio rooms, managers spaces etc.
Day to Day the venues are booked out for regular sporting codes for a range of ages and abilities. These community, school or regional bookings keep the venue busy on a day to day basis.
